Kim Soyeon, an attorney running in the People Power Party's Supreme Council election, held a press conference at the Daejeon City Council press room on the afternoon of July 31, where she diagnosed, "Currently, the People Power Party has lost its ability to generate issues and is mired in an identity crisis."

She added, "A political party must earn the support of the people. Indifference is our greatest enemy," and emphasized, "Now, we need fresh and creative approaches. I am the one who can change the party at this moment."

Kim Soyeon stated, "Although I have faced many hardships and have been cut off several times, I have continued to uphold principles and contemplate the party's future," and declared, "This time, I truly want to contribute to innovation in the People Power Party and play a substantive role for both the party and the nation."
