Jang Donghyuk, a lawmaker running for party leader in the People Power Party's 8·22 National Convention, met with Lee Jangwoo, the mayor of Daejeon, at Daejeon City Hall on the afternoon of July 31 to discuss opinions on the development of the party and the Chungcheong region.
At the meeting, Mayor Lee Jangwoo urged Representative Jang Donghyuk, saying, "As the youngest politician in the Chungcheong region, please foster young and outstanding talents to create a party with a future."
Mayor Lee also mentioned the controversy over the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
Mayor Lee criticized, stating, "More than 1,000 families of Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries officials are suddenly being forced to move within six months, yet not a single National Assembly member from the Chungcheong region is stepping forward."
