to Support Rapid Flood Recovery
and Aid Residents in Gapyeong-gun

The Gyeonggi-do Mayors and County Governors Association (Chairman Ju Gwangdeok) announced on July 31 that it had delivered a donation of 10 million won in the name of the association to support the prompt recovery of Gapyeong-gun, which suffered significant damage due to the recent record-breaking heavy rainfall, and to assist the disaster victims.

On July 20, due to the torrential downpour, Gapyeong-gun suffered five deaths and two missing persons, as well as large-scale property damage, and was declared a special disaster area.


In response, the Gyeonggi-do Mayors and County Governors Association delivered a donation of 10 million won through the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea to support the prompt recovery and aid for the disaster victims.


An official from the association stated, "We extend our deepest condolences to the residents of Gapyeong-gun who were affected by the sudden heavy rainfall, and we hope they can return to their daily lives as soon as possible," adding, "The association will continue to provide solidarity and cooperation so that we can overcome the difficulties faced by our local communities together."


Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi-do Mayors and County Governors Association is composed of the heads of 31 cities and counties in the province, and it carries out various activities to promote exchange and cooperation among members, as well as to strengthen balanced regional development and local autonomy.
