Dongducheon City Appoints New Members to Case Decision Committee under Child Welfare Deliberation Committee

Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyungdeok) announced on July 31 that it held the '2025 Dongducheon City Case Decision Committee New Member Appointment Ceremony' in the situation room on the second floor of City Hall on July 30.

This appointment ceremony was held due to the expiration of the terms of current members and changes in positions. The Case Decision Committee consists of a total of seven members, including lawyers, doctors, police officers, individuals with work experience in the field of child welfare, and those with extensive knowledge and experience in child-related fields. The term of office is two years, and members may be reappointed once.

The Case Decision Committee operates under the Child Welfare Deliberation Committee and is responsible for protecting the rights and interests of children. Its activities include making decisions on protective measures for children in need, discharge measures, requests for parental rights restrictions and appointment of guardians, selection of service support recipients and related support matters, and other matters deemed necessary by the mayor for child protection and support services.

Park Hyungdeok, Mayor of Dongducheon, stated, "I expect that the new members, based on their expertise and field experience, will ensure that deliberations are conducted with the highest priority given to children's rights and interests."
