This inspection was implemented as a measure to examine the working environment of outdoor workers who are vulnerable to heat waves and to prevent damage caused by the heat in advance.

On July 30 at 9:00 a.m., Deputy Mayor Jo Jeong-a visited the construction site of the Ohak Culture and Welfare Center in Hyeonam-dong, Yeoju City, to check working conditions and listen to the concerns of workers. She also visited a nearby eggplant farm to observe the working conditions of seven seasonal workers from Laos.

During the site inspection, Deputy Mayor Jo stated, "As the heat wave continues, meticulous management of workplaces is necessary to protect the health and safety of outdoor workers," and requested, "Relevant departments should conduct continuous inspections to ensure that heat wave response guidelines, such as providing rest areas, supplying drinking water, and adjusting working hours, are thoroughly implemented."

Yeoju City plans to further strengthen on-site inspections at outdoor workplaces whenever heat wave advisories are issued and to continue implementing effective measures to protect workers.
