Gangseo District to Transform Public Officials' Work Style with Full Introduction of 'AI Work Support Platform'

Gangseo District launches an integrated AI work support platform
AI handles repetitive tasks, enabling officials to focus on creative and strategic work

Gangseo District in Seoul (District Mayor Jin Kyohun) is officially launching the 'Gangseo-style AI Work Support Platform' for all employees. This platform is designed so that artificial intelligence (AI) handles repetitive and standardized tasks, allowing public officials to focus on creative and strategic administration. The goal is to simultaneously improve administrative efficiency and the quality of public services.

Gangseo District has built this system as an integrated platform based on its internal network, enabling all departments to process tasks within a unified environment. Notably, this fundamentally resolves issues such as data leakage and budget waste that may occur when using external AI services.

The platform is equipped with a variety of generative AI models, including the latest ChatGPT, real-time search Perplexity, data analysis Claude, and high-performance translator DeepL. Based on these tools, various administrative tasks such as document summarization, Q&A, image generation, and drafting documents for public institutions become much easier.

Security has also been enhanced. Conversations and input data are not stored, and personal information filtering as well as prohibited word filters are applied. Access is only possible through the internal administrative system, which completely blocks private use.

The district is providing user manuals and in-house training so that all employees can easily utilize the platform. By placing the platform on the main screen of the administrative network and allowing instant use without a separate login, accessibility and convenience have also been improved.

Gangseo District was the first among Seoul’s autonomous districts to enact the 'AI Basic Ordinance,' and is currently promoting various AI pilot projects such as AI-based automatic road damage detection and a rapid search system for missing persons. An 'AI Proposal Contest' is also underway to incorporate residents' ideas into policy.

Jin Kyohun, Mayor of Gangseo District, emphasized, “AI is no longer a technology of the future, but a practical tool that is transforming today’s administration. Public officials will work smarter with AI, and residents will enjoy a more convenient daily life through AI as we build an 'AI Gangseo.'”
