ESG management refers to a method that integrates Environment, Social, and Governance factors into all management processes, embedding them into decision-making and work processes. This approach goes beyond declarations and fundamentally changes the way work is conducted.
The corporation plans to transparently disclose key indicators such as energy consumption, social contribution performance, and levels of ethics and compliance through the sustainability management report. In addition, it will objectively assess its current status through evaluations by external professional organizations to identify areas for improvement. Based on these findings, ESG indicators will be incorporated into each department's work plans, and a quarterly monitoring system will be established to enhance transparency and strengthen credibility.
The Lee Daeyoung Scholarship Foundation and the 1004 Environmental Guardians Volunteer Group, both chaired by the corporation's Planning and Management Director Jung Beomchae, received the 'Environmental Practice' award at the 20th 2025 Korea Environment Awards. This award is hosted by the Korea Environment Awards Committee, which recognizes and encourages various entities that contribute to environmental conservation and sustainable development, and by Environment Media under the theme "The Future Is in Our Hands." The active ESG-related involvement of such key executives demonstrates the corporation's commitment and capacity to advance ESG initiatives.
President Min Kyungseon stated, "ESG is not a choice but a fundamental value that determines the corporation's competitiveness and credibility. By using the publication of the report and the level assessment as a starting point, we will embed ESG into all business processes and realize sustainable transportation services that residents can truly experience."
Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation has launched an ESG Management Committee and acquired multiple certifications, including family-friendly certification, disaster risk reduction excellence certification, and the anti-bribery management system (ISO 37001). The corporation has also practiced social values through social contribution activities, improving mobility rights for transportation-vulnerable groups, and operating with a focus on safety and health. Through this new plan, these activities are expected to become more systematic and advanced.
