The long-awaited 'Daecheon Resort Tourism Complex Development Plan' in Boryeong, Chungnam is set to move forward in earnest following approval from the Chungnam provincial government. This large-scale project, with an investment of 51.4 billion KRW, is expected to become a turning point that will reshape the tourism landscape of Boryeong.

The project will be developed on a site of 964,195 square meters in Changdong-ri, Nampo-myeon, Boryeong, and will be carried out over approximately four years from 2025 to 2028. The private developer, Daecheon Resort Co., Ltd., will implement the project in accordance with Articles 52 and 54 of the Tourism Promotion Act.

The main plans include: ▲expanding the existing 9-hole golf course to 18 holes ▲remodeling the family-type condominium ▲establishing an art station and cultural forest trail ▲refurbishing sports and entertainment facilities. The complex is set to transform into a stay-type tourism destination that integrates nature and culture.

In particular, while the current 9-hole golf course has primarily served Boryeong residents, after expansion it will be newly renovated as an eco-friendly seaside-view golf course targeting external tourists.

The abandoned rail bike facility along the disused railway section will also be refurbished and repurposed as a tourism content.

The accommodation facilities will be transformed into a complex cultural space including a performance hall and cinema, and customized amenities for travelers with companion animals will be introduced.

Additionally, new experiential content for children utilizing forest resources will be developed to actively attract family tourists.

Mayor Kim Dongil stated, "This designation of the tourism complex marks an opportunity for Boryeong to expand from a marine-centered city to an inland tourism destination. We will overcome the limitations of the existing recreation area and create a complex tourism destination that anyone can visit and stay in."

Meanwhile, the city expects this project to help establish a tourism belt connecting marine and inland areas, as well as to revitalize the local economy and create jobs.
