The two companies have agreed to cooperate to invigorate business by providing consulting on corporate investments and hedge structures for environmental and energy products, as well as technical consulting and investment arrangement related to corporate environmental and energy businesses.
Through this, they plan to improve corporate access to environmental and energy products and support optimal solutions for hedging risk factors that may arise from business activities.
IBK Investment & Securities has been discovering new growth engines in the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sector, including brokering domestic and international environmental and energy derivatives such as European Union (EU) carbon emission allowances.
NH Futures, as a specialized derivatives brokerage firm, provides customized investment and hedge solutions for each client and is expanding its business into eco-friendly raw material-based sectors, such as low-sulfur marine fuel.
Park Taedong, Head of S&T at IBK Investment & Securities, said, "We expect that this agreement will contribute to the activation of the environmental and energy market," and added, "We will continue to develop various projects to establish a sustainable financial ecosystem."
Lee Suseok, Vice President of NH Futures, stated, "This strategic cooperation will be an opportunity for both companies to grow together," and continued, "We will continue to expand synergy through various collaborative opportunities in the future."
