Enhanced Payment System and Compensation Program
The Safe Guarantee Project is a large-scale service improvement initiative that Junggonara has been promoting to fundamentally resolve fraud issues that may arise in peer-to-peer transactions and to ensure safe transactions for all users. This project builds on Junggonara's experience over the past 20 years.
For approximately 28 million members of Junggonara, a range of technological and institutional measures will be implemented across the entire platform. These include the unification of the safe payment system within both the app and web, strengthened identity verification procedures for sellers in the cafe, and the operation of a safe compensation program.
The most significant change is the full implementation of the "Safe Payment" system, which uses an escrow (payment deposit) method, throughout both the app and web services.
In addition, the safe payment fee will remain the same as before, with buyers paying 3.5% of the transaction amount. However, for transactions of 20,000 won or less, the safe payment fee will be completely waived.
The "Junggonara Safe Compensation Program" will also be operated, providing compensation of up to 1 million won per incident for damages caused by fraud in used goods transactions made through the safe payment system, regardless of the type of item or the number of incidents.
The seller verification process for the Naver Junggonara Cafe, which accounts for the majority of fraud cases on Junggonara, will also be significantly strengthened. From now on, only users who have completed identity verification via the Junggonara app will be eligible to post sales listings in the cafe, as the membership requirements will be changed.
Junggonara plans to gradually introduce further service improvements to enhance user convenience and satisfaction, such as adding an integrated shipping fee payment feature within the app and adopting a seller verification system based on transaction history.
