Transferring Operational Innovation Know-How to Partner Companies
Joint Entry into Global Markets with Partners...
Fundamental Improvement Across the Shipbuilding Ecosystem
Hanwha Ocean (CEO Kim Heecheol) has officially launched structural innovation activities aimed at fostering mutual growth with its partner companies.
The company has initiated the 'TOP Win-Win Partnership,' which centers on sharing Hanwha Ocean’s innovation experience and know-how with external partners, marking the beginning of efforts to fundamentally improve the overall shipbuilding industry ecosystem.

'TOP (Total Operational Performance)' is an operational innovation initiative that Hanwha Ocean has been implementing company-wide since 2023. The goal is to deliver results such as process efficiency and quality improvement by identifying and executing field-oriented projects.
Through the TOP initiative, Hanwha Ocean has so far discovered and managed approximately 1,000 improvement projects.
As the internal innovation system TOP began to yield tangible results, Hanwha Ocean decided to expand the scope of these activities to its partner companies. The first group of partners selected for the 'TOP Win-Win Partnership' includes four companies: Daerim S&P, Donghwa Entec, Samnok, and Youngchang Wood Industry.
Hanwha Ocean plans to fully support these innovation activities by sharing its improvement cases and problem-solving ideas with partners such as Daerim S&P, who have voluntarily applied to participate, and by helping them enhance their own competitiveness.

The 'TOP Win-Win Partnership' was initiated based on the recognition that Hanwha Ocean cannot win in the global market through its own growth alone. The intention is that only by building competitiveness together with partner companies and the entire Korean shipbuilding industry can they survive the price and technology competition with China.
In addition, in preparation for the expansion of global shipbuilding markets such as the United States, Hanwha Ocean plans to enter overseas markets together with partners who have developed technological capabilities and delivery responsiveness through the TOP Win-Win Partnership.
Partner companies participating in the 'TOP Win-Win Partnership' expect that expanding TOP activities will lead to a tangible strengthening of their own competitiveness.
An official from one of the partner companies said, "While previous technical support was one-sided, this initiative is a process where we examine on-site issues together and jointly seek solutions. By participating alongside partners in similar environments, we expect greater mutual understanding and learning effects."
This TOP Win-Win Partnership focuses more on improving the operational systems and fundamentals at partner companies rather than short-term results. Hanwha Ocean plans to provide continuous support so that each partner company can develop self-sustaining capabilities and competitiveness in efficiency, quality, and delivery responsiveness.
A Hanwha Ocean representative said, "The TOP Win-Win Partnership is a strategic co-growth model that goes beyond simple support, based on the belief that our partners’ capabilities are directly linked to Hanwha Ocean’s competitiveness. We will continue to work with more partners to solve on-site problems together and promote practical mutual growth."
