ACE KRX Gold Spot ETF Long-Term Holding Event Nears Deadline

Korea Investment Management will end its ACE KRX Gold Spot Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) Long-Term Holding Story Contest event on July 31.

The event, which began on June 23, will conclude after accepting entries until 11:59 p.m. on July 31. To participate, applicants must verify their subscription to the ACE ETF YouTube channel and submit their story about investing in the ACE KRX Gold Spot ETF. Anyone who has held the ACE KRX Gold Spot ETF for more than three months is eligible to participate.

As this is an event for the ACE KRX Gold Spot ETF, a 1-don gold bar has been prepared as a prize. Korea Investment Management will select 10 participants to each receive one gold bar. In addition to the 10 gold bar winners, 50 more participants will be randomly chosen to receive a 30,000 won Shinsegae gift certificate. The winners will be announced on the official ACE ETF blog on August 20.

The ACE KRX Gold Spot ETF, launched by Korea Investment Management in December 2021 as the first gold spot ETF in Korea, has seen a consistent increase in net purchases by individual investors since its listing. According to the Korea Exchange, the annual net purchases by individual investors in the ACE KRX Gold Spot ETF surged by 666% year-on-year, from 29.3 billion won in 2023 to 224.3 billion won in 2024. So far this year, through the day before publication, net purchases by individual investors have reached 340.5 billion won.

With individual investors participating for more than four years since its listing, a wide variety of stories are being submitted for the event. Some investors have focused on the reduction of fees for the ACE KRX Gold Spot ETF. On July 17, Korea Investment Management reduced the total fee for the ACE KRX Gold Spot ETF from 0.5% to 0.19%.

Ryu Jihae, Head of Digital Strategy at Korea Investment Management, said, "We are grateful to the investors who have shown interest in the ACE KRX Gold Spot ETF Long-Term Holding Event," and added, "This event will end at 11:59 p.m., and we are preparing to launch 'Long-Term Holding Event Season 2' as well."

The ACE KRX Gold Spot ETF is a performance-based product, and principal loss may occur depending on investment results.
