On July 31, Meritz Securities stated that SKC is expected to begin quality testing for glass substrates in the second half of this year.

Noh Wooho, a researcher at Meritz Securities, explained, "Growth momentum is expected to occur in the glass substrate business," adding, "Quality testing is being conducted for customers in the Americas."

He continued, "SKC will solidify its leading position in this field through additional capacity expansion decisions," and added, "The timing for securing growth potential in the glass substrate business and raising corporate value is expected to be after the second half of this year."

He analyzed, "In the second quarter of this year, SKC recorded sales of 467.3 billion KRW and an operating loss of 70.2 billion KRW," and noted, "Sales increased by 3.1% compared to the same period last year." He also emphasized, "Sales of copper foil for secondary batteries to the United States increased," and highlighted that "the company projected a copper foil demand growth rate of over 60% next year."

Researcher Noh predicted, "Due to the growing preference for Korean-made copper foil, shipment volumes are increasing," and added, "Quarterly operating losses are expected to gradually decrease."
