Seongnam City Ranks First in Government Joint Evaluation Organized by Gyeonggi Province

Proving the Nation's Top-Level Administrative Competence
Outstanding Performance in Both Qualitative and Quantitative Assessments

Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor: Shin Sang-jin) has once again demonstrated its outstanding administrative capabilities to the public by ranking first in the "2025 Joint Evaluation of Local Governments" organized by Gyeonggi Province.

The government joint evaluation is a system that assesses the performance of delegated national administrative tasks, national subsidy projects, and key national policies carried out by local governments. Gyeonggi Province conducted its own evaluation by dividing its 31 cities and counties into three groups.

In this evaluation, Seongnam City achieved excellent results in the qualitative assessment category among a total of 93 evaluation items. Out of 14 exemplary cases, 13 were selected from Seongnam City, including: ▲promotion of volunteer activities ▲cooperation between universities and local governments ▲empowerment of youth leadership ▲maintenance and utilization of outdoor advertisements ▲cooperation between local governments. This demonstrated the excellence of Seongnam City's policies and led to its overall first-place ranking in Gyeonggi Province.

In the quantitative assessment, Seongnam City recorded a 99.34% achievement rate for 79 indicators, earning a total score of 101.43 points and securing first place in Group 1.

More than 3,300 public officials in Seongnam City have thoroughly analyzed the characteristics and causes of underperformance for each indicator, established a systematic management system through performance checks, intensive management, and customized staff training, and have devoted themselves to achieving their goals.

Mayor Shin Sang-jin of Seongnam City stated, "Achieving first place in this government joint evaluation, as well as being selected as an 'excellent institution' in the comprehensive evaluation of Gyeonggi Province's cities and counties for six consecutive years, is the result of the united efforts of all public officials." He added, "We will continue to provide the highest level of administrative services that citizens can truly feel and create a 'City of Hope, Seongnam' that instills pride in our citizens."
