Gyeonggi Province's Yeoncheon County announced on July 30 that it held an interim report meeting for the "Jeongok Play Park Construction Project" design service on July 29 in the Situation Room on the second floor of the main building. The meeting was attended by more than 20 people, including Yeoncheon County Mayor Kim Deokhyeon, county council members, EBS officials, and heads of relevant departments.
Yeoncheon County Holds Interim Report Meeting for Jeongok Play Park Construction Project Design Service Kim Deokhyun, the governor of Yeoncheon County, held an interim report meeting for the design service of the "Jeongok Playpark Construction Project" on the 2nd floor situation room of the main building on the 29th. At this interim report meeting, the design elements reflecting improvements identified after the initial briefing and residents' feedback were intensively discussed.
Key changes include the creation of a multiplex (movie theater) to provide cultural benefits to local residents and the reorganization of children's play facilities with a user-centered approach. The movie theater will be a complex screening facility with three auditoriums and a total of 155 seats. Of these, one auditorium will be used for children's movies on weekday mornings, and another will serve as a lecture hall and small performance venue for youth cultural activities. The children's play facilities have been rearranged according to age-specific zoning and efficient user flow.
In particular, "Jeongok Play Park" is planned not just as a simple play space but as a core tourism hub that will be linked with Yeoncheon County's major tourist attractions. It will be developed as an indoor complex cultural and experiential space, expected to increase visitor stay time and attract new visitors to Yeoncheon County.
This project is being promoted as a regional anchor facility as part of the Jeongok 4-ri Urban Regeneration Revitalization Project. It will be constructed as a building with two basement levels and six above-ground floors. Based on this interim report meeting, Yeoncheon County plans to accelerate the project through detailed design, aiming for completion in December 2027.
Mayor Kim Deokhyeon stated, "Once Jeongok Play Park is completed, it will create synergy through linkage with local tourism resources and greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy," adding, "We look forward to the birth of a new complex cultural tourism landmark."
