Yeongju City to Hold 2nd Yeongju Seocheon Riverside Song Festival with 12 Finalists Advancing

Yeongju Seocheon Riverside Song Festival Returns with New Talents and Exciting Performances

Yeongju City will hold the '2025 2nd Yeongju Seocheon Riverside Song Festival' on August 1, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. on the special stage at Munjeong Dunchi.

This event is hosted by Yeongju City and organized by the Yeongju branch of the Korea Entertainment Artists Association (branch president Jo Jongho). It serves as the main stage for the first day of the region's signature summer festival, the '2025 Yeongju Siwon(ONE) Festival.'

In the preliminary round held on July 20, 2025, 12 finalists were selected from among 148 participants. These finalists will compete by performing popular songs such as 'Makgeolli Hanjan,' 'Cheonnyeonhak,' 'Dollil Su Eomneun Sewol,' and 'TEARS.' Two contestants from Yeongju, Hwang Youngsun and Kwon Bokju, will also take the stage.

The event will begin with a pre-show performance by invited singer Hwang Taeja, followed by the opening ceremony, a congratulatory performance by Ji Jaehyun, the winner of the 1st festival, the first and second rounds of the finals, performances by invited singers Seo Yeonhwa and Danbi, and the awards ceremony.

Jo Jongho, the branch president, stated, "I hope the Yeongju Seocheon Riverside Song Festival will become a gateway for new singers nationwide and a stage that delivers moving summer nights to citizens."

Yu Jeonggeun, acting mayor of Yeongju, said, "The music stage set against the natural backdrop of Seocheon will offer a unique emotional experience to citizens and tourists," and added, "We will spare no effort to support Yeongju's growth as a city of culture and the arts."
