Korea Gas Corporation Gwangju-Jeonnam Supports Empowerment of Young Adults Preparing for Independence Korea Gas Corporation Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters recently donated 9 million won to Yongjinwon located in Gwangsan-gu to support job competency enhancement projects for job creation for youth preparing for independence. Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (hereafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on July 30 that the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of Korea Gas Corporation recently donated 9 million won to Yongjinwon, located in Gwangsan-gu, as part of an employment competency enhancement support project aimed at creating jobs for young adults preparing for independence.


The donated funds will be used for employment-focused programs such as education fees to help 'young adults preparing for independence'?those who leave the protection of Yongjinwon upon turning 18?acquire professional technical qualifications and strengthen their employment skills. Through this support, it is expected that these young adults will be able to plan a more practical future after leaving the facility.


Lee Haksoo, head of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of Korea Gas Corporation, stated, "This donation is a practice of sustainable sharing that grows together with the local community," and added, "We will continue to pay attention and provide support so that young adults preparing for independence can achieve successful employment and contribute to the development of the local economy."


Park Heungcheol, secretary-general of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae, said, "This donation will provide practical support for young adults' independence," and expressed hope that more companies will join in realizing social value."


Meanwhile, the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of Korea Gas Corporation has been leading the spread of a culture of sharing and social contribution for the underprivileged in Gwangju. This year, the headquarters provided health products to seniors with limited access to medical care. Last year, it supported job creation for the visually impaired, language education for migrants, revitalization of traditional markets through support for multicultural and low-income families, and provided books and supplies for children.
