Gyeonggi-do Fire Academy held an entrance ceremony for new firefighter trainees on July 29.
A total of 319 new firefighter trainees attended the ceremony, including 243 men and 76 women. They will complete a 24-week training program, which consists of 21 weeks of group education and 3 weeks of field practice at fire stations, before being appointed as firefighters in Gyeonggi-do.

The training program includes practical, field-oriented education to strengthen response capabilities in fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services. It also covers the fundamental knowledge and fire-related laws and regulations necessary for the duties of firefighters.
Lee Sangtae, Head of the Education Support Division at the provincial fire academy, stated, "If you diligently complete the systematic 21-week training and education, you will be able to become firefighters trusted by the public." He added, "I ask you to cooperate with each other, trust the excellent faculty, and actively participate in the training."
