Estimated Body Length: 6 to 10 Meters
Speculations Include Crocodile and Burmese Python
A mysterious creature, estimated to be about 10 meters long, has been spotted in the Han River in Seoul, drawing significant attention.
On July 11, a video titled "A Real Monster Appears in the Han River in Seoul" was uploaded to the YouTube channel Jeongdam Story. According to YouTuber A, on the night of July 7, while night fishing near the Yeouido National Assembly riverside parking lot, he witnessed a huge mysterious creature repeatedly surfacing and disappearing in the river.
At first, A thought he had hooked a large fish, but as a large, black, elongated object gradually approached him, he said in a panicked voice, "What is that? It's scary, it's coming this way," conveying the tense situation. In the end, he gave up fishing and left the area.
A explained that the mysterious creature swam in the same spot for about 20 minutes with consistent movements, and that it was thicker than a human. He also stated, "The length of the object appeared to be at least 6 meters and up to 10 meters, and it looked like there were two of them, not just one."
Various theories have emerged regarding the identity of the creature. One netizen claimed, "That's an otter. You can see its head poking out and going back in," suggesting that it could have been a group of otters moving together. On the other hand, others argued, "If it were an otter, it would poke its head out more frequently and move differently. Swimming in a similar pattern for 20 minutes is unlikely for otters."

There were also claims that it could be a pet Burmese python or crocodile that had grown to adulthood. Some argued that a pet crocodile could reach such a size if it grew in a large natural environment like the Han River. Another netizen pointed out, "When a Burmese python becomes fully grown, it can reach a body length of 10 meters and often be thicker than a human."
