The race will begin with an opening ceremony at 7:30 a.m. and will proceed along a single 18.8 km course, starting at the Jangsu Sports Complex and finishing at Banghwadong Natural Recreation Forest. The time limit for the race is 6 hours.

The course passes through major local attractions such as the Dongchon-ri Ancient Tombs, Mabongsan Mountain, Nongae Paragliding Site, and Sadubong Ridge, allowing participants to enjoy the natural scenery of the Banghwadong Ecological Trail and Banghwadong Natural Recreation Forest.

The unique trail routes, which wind through dense forests and clear valleys, are expected to offer participants the distinctive charm of Jangsu County's mountain trails.

This race will be held in conjunction with the "3rd Jangsu Cool Valley Festival," taking place from August 1 to August 3 at the Banghwadong Natural Recreation Forest. After the trail race, participants and their families will be able to enjoy a variety of experiences at the festival, including Jangsu’s local agricultural products and water play programs.

County Governor Choi Hoonshik stated, "This event harmonizes nature and sports and is expected to make a significant contribution to revitalizing the local economy and promoting tourism. We will also actively support the successful hosting of the '6th Jangsu Trail Race' in September to firmly establish the county as an international mountain tourism city."

Meanwhile, trail running is a compound word combining "trail" and "running." It refers to a mountain marathon that takes place on natural paths such as country roads and mountain trails, rather than on artificial surfaces like asphalt or tracks. With the recent marathon boom, trail running is also gaining attention.
