Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Yoon Kyunghee) held the '2025 Foster Parent Refresher Training' on July 22 at the Cheongsong County Family Center education hall, with about 20 foster parents in attendance. The training aimed to promote the activation of the foster care program and ensure efficient operation.
Cheongsong County provides support for children who cannot be raised by their guardians due to reasons such as the death of biological parents, abuse, neglect, or poverty. These children are placed in substitute, kinship, or general foster families so that they can grow up in a healthy and safe environment. The county conducts refresher training at least once a year for the more than 25 foster parents caring for protected children.
The refresher training for foster parents on this day invited a representative from the Gyeongbuk Foster Care Support Center as the instructor. The training focused on helping foster parents recognize the importance of their roles and enhancing their professional knowledge and capabilities in child-rearing, with topics including: ▲Understanding of 2025 Child Protection Services ▲Child Abuse Prevention Education ▲Economic Education for Children ▲Understanding Parenting Styles of Foster Parents.
Governor Yoon Kyunghee expressed gratitude, saying, "I would like to thank the foster parents who are dedicated to ensuring that children can grow up safely in foster families." She added, "We will continue to provide generous support and high-quality welfare services so that foster children can grow up happy and healthy in the future."
