The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters will hold a three-day 'Gyeonggi-do Disaster Response Tactics' review meeting from July 29 to July 31 to secure the golden time at disaster sites.
During the meeting, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters will review the 'three core tactical systems,' including communication tactics during fires, vehicle operation strategies and tactics, and region-specific water supply tactics. The participants will also discuss directions for improvement.
In addition, field response will be reviewed based on 20 types of specialized tactics, including high-speed rail long tunnel fires, hazardous chemical leaks, and aircraft accidents.

After this meeting, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters will revise the tactical manual and distribute it to all fire stations in the province in August. In addition, in the second half of the year, cyber training materials will be produced and practical training will also be conducted.
Kim Jaebyung, head of the Fire and Disaster Headquarters, said, "This meeting will serve as an opportunity to maximize the cooperation system among firefighters and further enhance the speed and quality of initial suppression," adding, "Gyeonggi Fire Service will prepare for on-site response without a single error through data-driven tactical innovation."
Meanwhile, last year, Gyeonggi-do recorded 7,931 fires, the highest number in the country. In particular, the complexity of on-site response has been increasing recently, especially with incidents such as the Gwangmyeong apartment fire.
