Gwangju Seo District Council Forms Special Budget and Accounts Committee

Seven Members Including Chairperson Kim Sooyoung and Vice Chairperson Kim Hyungmi

The Seo District Council of Gwangju (Chairperson Jeon Seungil) formed the Special Budget and Accounts Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee) during the 332nd extraordinary session held on July 25, which will review the budget and settlement of accounts for one year until June next year.

The Committee consists of seven members: Chairperson Kim Sooyoung, Vice Chairperson Kim Hyungmi, as well as council members Kim Taejin, Lim Sunghwa, Baek Jonghan, Ahn Hyungjoo, and Kim Kyunho. The Committee will begin its activities by reviewing the 2025 second supplementary budget bill at the 333rd extraordinary session.

Chairperson Kim Sooyoung stated, "Many residents of Seo District are suffering due to the combined effects of the local economic downturn and flood damage." She added, "While ensuring fairness in budget review, I will do my utmost to eliminate wasteful elements, and to ensure that the budget is allocated appropriately for prompt and systematic flood recovery, as well as for the resolution of residents' long-standing wishes and pending issues."
