As of the end of June, the population of Geumsan County stood at 49,340, which is 660 short of the 50,000 mark. In response, a campaign is underway to restore the population to 50,000.

On the 28th, Geumsan County continued its 'Geumsan Ae Sal-eoriratda' relay visit campaign aimed at restoring the population to 50,000, targeting Hydro Lithium Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeon Woong), Hi Food Tech Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong Hwajin), and Kyungbang Shinyak Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Chunghwan).

This relay visit campaign, which began on July 17, aims to overcome the crises of reduced financial support, economic downturn, and decreased social infrastructure caused by population decline. It seeks to expand a culture of population retention through cooperation with local institutions, organizations, businesses, and residents.

Participants in the campaign held placards reading "Address! To Geumsan! Let’s all protect the 50,000 population," actively encouraging those who reside in the area but have not registered their address to do so.

The county plans to continue the 'Geumsan Ae Sal-eoriratda' relay visit campaign until November, with the goal of restoring the population to 50,000.

Park Beomin, Governor of Geumsan County, stated, "As of the end of June, the population of Geumsan County is 49,340 and continues to decline," and added, "We ask for your keen interest in the 'Geumsan Ae Sal-eoriratda' relay visit campaign to restore the population to 50,000."
