Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae) held a 'Baekssemi Brown Rice Instant Meal Launch Tasting Event' and a 'Rice Export Shipment Ceremony to Japan' at Seokgok Nonghyup (President Han Seungjun) on July 28.

This event was organized to commemorate the official launch of brown rice instant meals made with the region’s representative brand 'Baekssemi,' as well as the first shipment of 'Jamjariga Nonildeon Ssal' rice to Japan.

More than 50 people attended the event, including Governor Cho Sangrae, the Deputy Director of the Jeonnam Nonghyup Regional Headquarters, the Head of the Nonghyup Gokseong Branch, directors and auditors of Seokgok Nonghyup, the head of the local village chief association, and members of the local farm women’s association.

'Baekssemi' is a premium rice brand that Seokgok Nonghyup has been distributing and cultivating with local farmers since 2017. It has gained great popularity among consumers for its excellent taste and savory aroma.

The newly launched instant meal is a product made primarily from Baekssemi brown rice. It is gaining attention as a differentiated processed food with outstanding quality and convenience, in line with the expanding ready-to-eat meal market.

In addition, a shipment ceremony was held for the first export of Seokgok Nonghyup’s brand 'Jamjariga Nonildeon Ssal' rice to the Japanese market. The total export volume is 11 tons, marking the beginning of a full-scale entry into overseas markets. It is expected to meet Japan’s strict food standards and satisfy the tastes of Japanese consumers.

In his congratulatory speech, Governor Cho Sangrae emphasized, "Today’s achievements, made possible by the efforts of Seokgok Nonghyup and local farmers, are a valuable starting point that brightly illuminates the future of the food industry. We will continue to provide administrative support to further develop the Baekssemi brand, expand exports, and foster the processed food industry."

Meanwhile, the event is being highly regarded for strengthening the competitiveness of local agricultural products through the cooperation of Nonghyup and local governments, and for establishing a foundation for entering not only the domestic market but also the global market.
