Nextchip Confirms Supply of Video Transmission System for Robots to Robotics Company

On July 28, Nextchip announced that it has secured a contract to supply a high-resolution video transmission system for collaborative robots to Company A, a leading listed company in the domestic collaborative robot sector. As a result, the company expects its sales in the robotics field to expand significantly.

The core of this supply deal is to resolve performance issues of high-resolution cameras installed in collaborative robots by leveraging Nextchip's AHD (Analog High Definition) technology. The two companies signed a supply agreement in April and have since undergone rigorous evaluation tests. Full-scale supply is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter.

Advanced collaborative robots adopt a multi-stage connection method due to the characteristics of their joint structures. As a result, conventional high-resolution cameras have been unable to perform optimally due to signal attenuation and noise generation. Nextchip's AHD technology improves analog signal transmission methods, enabling stable transmission of high-resolution video signals even in multi-stage connection environments.

Through this collaboration, Company A will be able to secure market competitiveness with collaborative robots equipped with high-resolution cameras. Based on a precise vision system, both work precision and safety are expected to improve significantly compared to existing systems, resulting in clear differentiation.

The company has achieved visible results this year through active research and development (R&D). By expanding its business domain from the existing automotive sector to robotics, it is securing new growth engines. In particular, as the robotics market grows rapidly, demand for vision technology is surging, and the company is expected to establish a stable revenue base in the future.

A Nextchip representative stated, "Through collaboration with various robotics companies, we have proven that our vision technology has strong competitiveness in the robotics field," adding, "We will make significant contributions to enhancing the performance of vision systems essential for collaborative and service robots."

The representative continued, "Based on our proven vision technology, we will expand its application to various robots in line with the rapid growth of the robotics market," and added, "We will strengthen the company's growth potential by expanding sales in the robotics sector this year."

Meanwhile, Nextchip recently announced that its camera module chip will be installed in Hyundai Motor Company's small mobility platform 'MobED,' which is scheduled for release at the end of the year. 'MobED' is a next-generation robot equipped with a gripper?a device that enables gripping and manipulation of objects?and autonomous driving capabilities, and is expected to be utilized in various industrial sectors.
