ARoot: Subsidiary Registers Patent for Next-Generation Power Technology Optimized for AI Data Centers

ARoot announced on July 28 that its specialized UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) subsidiary, Geonix, has successfully registered a patent for next-generation UPS technology. Geonix plans to expand its power solution business into the AI data center and Public Procurement Service markets based on this new patented technology.

ARoot: Subsidiary Registers Patent for Next-Generation Power Technology Optimized for AI Data Centers

The patent registered by Geonix covers technology related to an "Object-Oriented DSP (Digital Signal Processing) Applied High-Efficiency UPS System and Control Method." The patent features several key technologies: high-speed switching control based on SiC (Silicon Carbide) MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor), DSP-based PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control, an object-oriented control software architecture, and distributed control technology utilizing high-speed communication functions.

Through the registration of this new UPS patent, Geonix has succeeded in securing next-generation technology. Utilizing this new technology not only maximizes power efficiency but also reduces heat generation. Since input and output transformers are unnecessary, the UPS can be miniaturized, resulting in cost savings. The DSP-based modular design makes UPS system expansion easy, and high-speed communication functions enable distributed control and smart operation.

Geonix plans to target both the private market, including AI data centers and telecommunications base stations, and the public market through the Public Procurement Service, focusing on the newly secured patent. The company explained that applying this new technology to AI data centers can significantly reduce UPS conversion losses, thereby drastically lowering data center operating costs, and also maximize installation efficiency within high-density data centers.

A company representative stated, "We have been engaged in the power solution business for over 50 years and have continuously conducted research and development. We have now succeeded in developing next-generation UPS technology to pioneer the AI data center and Public Procurement Service markets." He added, "Since the new patent significantly exceeds the UPS efficiency standards set by the Public Procurement Service, we expect the process for obtaining recognition as an excellent procurement product to proceed smoothly, and we will actively target the domestic procurement market through this."

He continued, "The technology we have secured enables optimal design and installation in high-density data centers through cost reduction and miniaturization, and it can flexibly respond to the rapidly changing loads of AI server structures in real time. Based on this next-generation technology, we will simultaneously promote supply to both the public sector and private enterprises to maximize business growth."
