Saemaeul Library Cheongdo Branch Operates Vacation Mobile Library at Unmun Dam Weir and Actively Promotes Carbon Neutrality

Saemaeul Library Cheongdo Branch (President Park Junik) announced on July 28 that it recently held an opening ceremony for the "Vacation Mobile Library" at the downstream weir of Unmun Dam, with about 30 Saemaeul Library members and Saemaeul family members in attendance, and has officially begun operations.

The Vacation Mobile Library was established to promote a reading culture among tourists visiting the downstream weir of Unmun Dam, a popular summer vacation spot, and to provide relaxation and leisure through books. Anyone can freely borrow a variety of books.

The mobile library will operate for a total of 10 days, from July 25 to August 3. During the operation period, Saemaeul leaders from each town and township will take turns working daily to provide guidance.

In addition, various volunteer activities will be conducted, such as promoting order among vacationers, environmental cleanup activities, and "Saemaeul Jupging Day" as part of the carbon neutrality movement, to help create a pleasant environment at the vacation site.

In particular, during this operation period, international students from the Yeungnam University Institute for Multicultural Education, which has signed a business agreement with Cheongdo County, will participate in volunteer activities at every session, adding significant meaning to exchanges and cooperation with the local community.

Park Junik, president of the Saemaeul Library branch, stated, "I would like to thank all the members who are working together to operate the mobile library despite the heat. We will do our best to ensure that the mobile library continues every year and makes a practical contribution to spreading and establishing a reading culture in the local community."

A Cheongdo County official said, "We hope that people will enjoy a relaxing time with books during their summer vacation, even amidst their busy daily lives. We expect that a single book will make vacationers' summer even richer."
