Law School Association to Provide Selected Standard Case Studies to Law&Company
Law&Company to Offer 'BigCase' and 'SuperLawyer' Free of Charge to Law School Professors and Students
The Law School Association of Korea (Chairman Hong Daesik) has signed a supplementary agreement with Law&Company Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Bonhwan) for the joint utilization of legal education content.
This agreement is a follow-up measure for the practical implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the two organizations in January. The core of the agreement is that the Law School Association will provide its Standard Case Study materials to Law&Company, and Law&Company will offer its main services free of charge to members of all 25 law schools nationwide for research and academic purposes.
The Standard Case Study is a collection of carefully selected and organized research materials on key cases in seven major legal subjects: constitutional law, civil law, criminal law, commercial law, civil procedure law, criminal procedure law, and administrative law. The Law School Association has been publishing these materials since 2020 as part of its efforts to foster legal professionals through education and to promote the qualification-based bar exam system, which aligns with the original purpose of introducing law schools.
Under this agreement, the Law School Association will provide its accumulated Standard Case Study materials to Law&Company, and Law&Company will integrate the selected standard cases into its AI-based integrated legal information service, 'BigCase.'
'BigCase' is a legal information service equipped with advanced search functions powered by AI technology. It allows users to comprehensively search for case law, statutes, commentaries, and paid academic papers. Through this agreement, Law&Company plans to create a separate product for research purposes and provide the BigCase service free of charge to professors and students at all 25 law schools nationwide.
In addition, law school professors and students will also be able to use 'SuperLawyer,' Korea's first legal AI service operated by Law&Company, free of charge. SuperLawyer, based on generative AI technology, supports various functions such as legal research, drafting legal documents, analyzing and summarizing documents, and document- or case-based conversations. Law&Company plans to introduce a subscription plan for academic use.
Chairman Hong stated, "This supplementary agreement will serve as an opportunity to systematize the Standard Case Study accumulated by the Association as digital content and to share it on an open platform, thereby further enhancing the effectiveness of law school education. We will continue to lead the digital transformation of legal education."
CEO Kim said, "Through this supplementary agreement, a foundation has been established for law school members to access legal information more easily and efficiently. Law&Company will actively contribute to creating an innovative learning environment for future legal professionals."
With this supplementary agreement as a starting point, the two organizations plan to continue expanding their cooperative relationship in various fields, including joint research, content development, and the dissemination of digital educational materials throughout legal education.
