Participation of 7,000 Children and Groups from Kindergarten and Elementary Schools
A Total of 56 Winners Selected, Including Grand Prize, Excellence, and Merit Awards

The Korean Committee for UNICEF (Chairman: Jung Gapyoung) announced on the 28th that it had finalized the selection of winners and held an award ceremony for the '1st UNICEF Children's Handwriting Contest'.
The contest, held online from May 1 to May 31, received an enthusiastic response with the participation of 7,000 children and 111 organizations. Through three rounds of judging, a total of 56 works were selected. The judging panel included Korea's first graphologist, attorney Koo Bonjin; Sandoll's type design group leader No Eunyoo, from the content creator platform company Sandoll; and writer and translator Hwang Seokhee. They selected one Grand Prize winner, two Excellence Award winners, twenty Merit Award winners, thirty Encouragement Award winners, and three group award-winning teams.

The handwriting of the three recipients of the Grand Prize and Excellence Awards will be jointly developed into the 'UNICEF Children's Typeface' by the Korean Committee for UNICEF and Sandoll. It will be released on November 20, in celebration of 'World Children's Day', through the Korean Committee for UNICEF and the font platform 'Sandoll Cloud'.
Jo Mijin, Secretary-General of the Korean Committee for UNICEF, said, "I would like to thank all 7,000 participants who took the time to read and write the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child through this handwriting contest, deepening their understanding of children's rights," and added, "We hope for much interest in the 'UNICEF Children's Typeface', which captures the innocence unique to children."
