Moviegoing Promotion for All Citizens
All residents of Gochang County, North Jeolla Province, can now watch movies at Dongri Cinema for just 1,000 won per ticket.
According to the Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation on July 28, a new initiative led by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Film Council has launched, offering a 6,000 won discount on movie tickets nationwide to promote moviegoing among the public.
As a result, the ticket price at Dongri Cinema has been reduced from 7,000 won to 1,000 won, allowing residents to enjoy movies in a cool environment during the hot summer without financial burden.
Dongri Cinema, operated by the Gochang Culture and Tourism Foundation, has also been actively promoting cultural welfare for residents by implementing a policy that offers a constant 1,000 won discount on tickets for priority groups. Information on movies and screening times at Dongri Cinema can be found on the cinema's official website.
County Governor Shim Deokseop stated, "With Gochang selected for this moviegoing promotion project, our residents can now enjoy movies at an affordable price," and added, "We plan to continue expanding services related to movie viewing in the future."
