The flag for the '2027 Summer Universiade', which will feature 18 sports including archery, fencing, and gymnastics, with delegations from 150 countries and approximately 15,000 athletes, has been handed over to the governors of Daejeon, Sejong, Chungbuk, and Chungnam.
On the 27th (local time), Daejeon Mayor Lee Jangwoo attended the closing ceremony of the '2025 Rhine-Ruhr Summer Universiade', currently being held in Germany during his overseas business trip to Europe, and received the event flag.
With this, it has been about two years since 'Chungcheong Megacity' was selected as the host city for the 2027 Summer World University Games in Brussels, Belgium in November 2022, and now the flag has been officially received.
