Introduced in July This Year
Sungshin Cement, a company specializing in cement, announced on July 28 that it has implemented a "Donation Pledge System," which allows employees to directly choose the donation recipient and amount, with contributions automatically deducted from their salaries.
The Donation Pledge System is designed to respect employees' autonomy and choice, enabling them to select an organization of their preference from a list of donation recipients. A fixed amount is automatically deducted from their salaries each month and donated accordingly. The donation records of participating employees are forwarded to the respective organizations, and employees can also receive tax deduction benefits during year-end tax settlements. The donation pledge can be easily made through the company's internal HR portal, and employees can independently apply for multiple recipients or cancel their pledges at any time.
Since 2010, Sungshin Cement has been conducting the "Salary Change Collection" initiative, in which the remaining change from employees' monthly salaries is donated. These funds have been delivered to domestic welfare organizations and for medical support for children, as well as to neighbors in society who are marginalized or facing difficulties. The new Donation Pledge System aims to expand these existing activities by managing donations in a more systematic and transparent manner, thereby enhancing employees' sense of participation in social contribution.
A representative from Sungshin Cement stated, "By developing a system that allows employees to choose their own donation recipients, we aim to foster a sustainable culture of sharing through voluntary participation." The representative added, "We will continue to realize our vision as a global company that provides the highest value to customers, and uphold our core values of people, innovation, integrity, and diversity."
