This site visit was conducted in line with the city administration's philosophy of prioritizing citizens' safety, especially as the risks of natural disasters such as heavy rainfall and heatwaves are increasing due to recent climate change. The mayor, together with site officials, examined the construction schedules and quality management status, and checked whether emergency response systems were established and whether various safety facilities were appropriately arranged.
In particular, Mayor Kim stated, "Public buildings are both spaces for citizens' lives and symbolic assets of the region, so they must be constructed safely and solidly," and emphasized, "Even during the construction process, the lives and safety of citizens must be the top priority."
He further stressed, "We will do our utmost to ensure that systematic process management is carried out so that the construction can be completed on schedule and citizens can use the facilities in a timely manner."
At each site, the mayor asked the site officials to thoroughly implement disaster prevention measures tailored to the summer weather conditions, as well as heatstroke prevention plans and flood preparedness measures. He also checked whether rest areas and sanitary facilities for construction workers were improved, and mentioned the necessity of measures to protect workers' health.
Through this inspection, it is expected that Paju will not only secure the quality of public buildings but also accelerate the establishment of a disaster-resilient urban infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Unjeong Danurim Senior and Disabled Welfare Center is scheduled for completion in July. The Gyoha Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasium, currently under construction, is expected to be completed in March 2026. The Unjeong 3-dong Administrative Welfare Center is also scheduled for completion in March 2026, and the Munsan Health Branch and Senior Welfare Center Complex is expected to be completed in August 2026.
