To mark the summer vacation season, retailers are attracting attention by offering a variety of pop-up stores.

Lotte Department Store Centum City Branch will host a pop-up store called 'Limited Time JUMP SHOP in BUSAN' at the B2 plaza event hall from August 1 to August 10, featuring character merchandise from Japan's popular manga magazine 'Weekly Shonen Jump'.

'Jump Shop' is an officially licensed merchandise store by the major Japanese publisher Shueisha, selling authentic character goods based on illustrations drawn by the original artists or scenes from the manga.

Since its first opening in Japan in 2004, Jump Shop has gained immense popularity, operating 13 permanent stores nationwide and holding frequent pop-up events.

This Busan pop-up store is the first official event of its kind in the region, a rare occurrence in Korea. Visitors will be able to find character merchandise from beloved Japanese manga such as 'One Piece', 'Sakamoto Days', 'Blue Box', 'Hunter X Hunter', 'My Hero Academia', and 'Jujutsu Kaisen' all in one place.

In addition, goods from series like 'Haikyu' and 'Kaiju No. 8' will also be available.

This Busan event will also unveil products that have not been showcased at previous events, raising high expectations among manga fans.

'Weekly Shonen Jump' has enjoyed long-standing global popularity since its launch in 1968 through numerous hit manga series. At the end of 1994, its weekly circulation reached 6.35 million copies.

In 2014, the online magazine 'Shonen Jump Plus' was launched, with series like 'Kaiju No. 8' being actively serialized.

The upcoming pop-up store will not only sell merchandise but also feature character photo zones and other attractions that manga fans will love.

Kim Sunyeop, Team Leader of the Fashion Division at Lotte Department Store's MD Headquarters, said, "We believe this pop-up store will satisfy not only manga fans but also MZ generation customers and families who enjoy character goods," adding, "We plan to further strengthen our efforts to host various content events that people can see and enjoy in the future."
