Rebranding of the Former "Hogak" Service
AI Reduces Sports Broadcasting Costs by 90%
On July 28, KT Skylife and Hogak Co., Ltd. announced that they are rebranding their artificial intelligence (AI)-based sports broadcasting platform "Hogak" as "POCHAK" and will begin a full-scale push into the market.
"POCHAK," which will launch on August 1, is a platform that utilizes AI technology to efficiently broadcast and edit sports footage, enabling cost reductions of more than 90% compared to existing solutions. KT Skylife plans to expand its B2G (business-to-government) and B2B (business-to-business) markets, focusing on local governments, schools, and sports facilities, and will actively promote live sports broadcasting.
KT Skylife is currently building AI broadcasting infrastructure through agreements with the Gangneung City Sports Council and the Gangneung Office of Education. The company also intends to expand its services for local governments by leveraging its experience in broadcasting events organized by the Korea Sports Council. Individual users can use the "POCHAK" app to access live broadcasts, highlight editing, and social media sharing features.
The "2025 Hwarangdae National Youth Football Tournament," the largest youth football competition in Korea, which will be held from August 5, will also be broadcast live for all matches through the "POCHAK" app.
Choi Youngbum, CEO of KT Skylife, stated, "'POCHAK,' born from AI technology, is a sports boosting platform that transforms every moment and record of sports into content and connects them to communities." He added, "We will continue to expand our infrastructure across sports venues nationwide, contribute to the development of the Korean sports industry, and create new markets."
