On July 27, LG Electronics announced that it had recently unveiled the seventh video in its "Endangered Species Protection Campaign with LG" series, titled "Pygmy Owl," on the electronic billboards in Times Square, New York. The video uses 3D visuals to depict the pygmy owl, whose habitat is threatened by abnormal climate conditions, highlighting the seriousness of environmental destruction. The pygmy owl, which mainly inhabits the western United States and the deserts of Mexico, is experiencing a decline in both its habitat and population due to climate change and development.

LG Electronics is conducting a campaign to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity by portraying animals endangered by climate change, and to alert the public to the dangers of carbon emissions and global warming. Starting this year, the company has expanded the campaign by participating as an official partner in a nature documentary series produced by the American broadcaster NBC.

Jung Kyu-hwang, Executive Vice President and Head of North America at LG Electronics, said, "Through the endangered species protection campaign, we will continue to inform customers around the world about the seriousness of climate change and the importance of preserving biodiversity."
