Active Communication Through Leading Policies and Social Media
Seongdong-gu, Seoul announced on the 27th that Mayor Jeong Wonoh has been ranked first in the Seoul Metropolitan Government Head category of the 'K-Brand Index'.
The 'K-Brand Index' is calculated through a big data system developed by the Asia Brand Research Institute in collaboration with domestic and international researchers, and selects the leading brands in various sectors of Korea. The K-Brand Index for Seoul Metropolitan Government Heads was determined by analyzing approximately 24.83 million pieces of online big data collected during June this year.
Jung Wono, mayor of Seongdong District, was selected as number one in the Seoul metropolitan government heads category of the 'K-Brand Index.' The photo shows Jung Wono, mayor of Seongdong District, explaining in the Smart Policy Communication Room. Provided by Seongdong District.
In this survey, Jeong Wonoh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, achieved the top ranking by scoring consistently high across all seven index categories: Trend, Media, Social, Positive and Negative Evaluation, TA (Activation), and Community.
Currently, Mayor Jeong is the only three-term district mayor in Seoul and is recognized as a hands-on and communicative administrator. He has been implementing policies that bring tangible changes to residents' lives based on the philosophy of "People-Centered City, Seongdong."
Furthermore, Seongdong-gu's leading policies?including gentrification prevention measures, smart inclusive city strategies, essential worker support policies, Hyosarang Health Doctor, the creation of a 15-minute city, and integrated elderly care?have driven the district's development and have been adopted nationwide as exemplary cases.
Mayor Jeong actively communicates through various channels under the belief that "the voices of residents are the starting point of policy." Initiatives such as "Conversation Day with the Mayor," resolving civil complaints via public disclosure of his mobile phone number, and diverse social networking service (SNS) interactions have created a structure where policies are designed and implemented together with residents. This two-way communication-based administration has become a key driver in increasing the perceived effectiveness and satisfaction of Seongdong-gu’s policies, and is credited with establishing trust throughout the local community.
Mayor Jeong stated, "This achievement is not just a personal accomplishment, but the result of close-to-life administration and continuous communication with residents to improve their lives." He added, "I will continue to strive to enhance Seongdong-gu’s brand value by creating a livable city where smart technology, people, welfare, and sustainability are in harmony."
