From the 25th Until the End of October
Aiming to Raise 100 Million Won
Uiryeong County in Gyeongnam Province announced that, in order to expedite the recovery of areas severely damaged by the recent heavy rainfall, it will promote a designated donation project through the "Hometown Love Donation Program" from the 25th until the end of October, with a target of raising 100 million won.
The "Hometown Love Donation Program" is a system that allows individuals to donate to local governments. It is divided into general donations and designated donations. In general donations, the donor selects a local government but does not specify the use of the funds. In designated donations, the donor specifies a particular project, such as natural disaster recovery, to support with their contribution.
Uiryeong County, which suffered extensive damage from the recent heavy rainfall?including flooding of homes and farmland and the loss of roads?explained that securing financial resources through voluntary contributions from donors is urgently needed to help affected residents return to their daily lives and to restore the local infrastructure.
Donations can be made both online (via Hometown Love e-eum) and offline (at NH Nonghyup Bank). For donations up to 100,000 won, the entire amount is eligible for a tax deduction. For amounts exceeding this, a deduction benefit of 16.5% is provided. Additionally, donors may choose to receive local specialty products or other return gifts within 30% of their donation amount, or, if they wish, they may forgo the return gift and have the entire amount used for local recovery funds.
An official from Uiryeong County stated, "Your warm interest and donations through the Hometown Love Donation Program will not only provide great comfort to the affected residents but will also contribute to disaster recovery and the revitalization of the local economy. We kindly ask for your active participation to help lead Uiryeong County's recovery together."
