On July 25, the West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency held a video conference in the main conference room of its headquarters to discuss response measures in preparation for maritime accidents, as Typhoon No. 7 (Francisco) and Typhoon No. 8 (Komai) are moving northward.

During the meeting, all representatives from the five affiliated stations (Gunsan, Buan, Mokpo, Wando, and Yeosu) attended. As indirect effects are expected to impact the West and South Seas starting from the weekend, the agency decided to focus on preventing vessel accidents and casualties.

In particular, the agency emphasized the following: early evacuation measures for distant-water fishing vessels, patrols of high-risk areas such as rocky shores and breakwaters, and thorough preparation at patrol vessels and substations to prevent related accidents.

A representative of the West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency stated, "Typhoon No. 7 is currently moving westward over the northeastern seas of Taiwan, while Typhoon No. 8 is heading north over the northern seas of the Philippines. Weather conditions are expected to worsen until the 29th. Especially during the tidal peak period, combined with swells and high waves, flooding damage is expected in low-lying coastal areas between the 25th and 27th. We urge residents in these areas to exercise great caution."
