LG Uplus is offering a voluntary retirement program for employees aged 50 and above. This is the first voluntary retirement program in three years since 2022.

The severance package will be up to three times the employee's annual salary, with the amount varying depending on the year of birth. Employees born in 1965 will receive 20% of their annual salary, those born in 1966 will receive 1.1 times their annual salary, those born in 1967 will receive 2.1 times their annual salary, and those born on or after January 1, 1968 will receive three times their annual salary.
Support for children's educational expenses will also be provided. Employees with children in middle school will receive 5 million won, and those with children in high school will receive 7 million won. Employees with university students as children will be reimbursed for actual expenses up to 7.5 million won per semester, for up to four semesters.
An LG Uplus representative stated, "This voluntary retirement program is not a restructuring measure, but is being implemented in response to employee demand," and added, "It will only be available to those who wish to participate, and there is no set target number of participants."
