"Expecting Local Vitality Through Sports and Tourism Integration"
Yeosu City, South Jeolla Province (Mayor Jung Kimyung) announced on July 25 that it had signed an agreement with the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) on July 24 at the City Hall Situation Room to host the "2025 Yeosu KOVO Cup Pro Volleyball Tournament."
The signing ceremony was attended by Yeosu Mayor Jung Kimyung, KOVO Secretary General Shin Mucheol, and other officials. Both parties agreed to cooperate on tournament operations, facility support, and promotional marketing.

The "KOVO Cup" is a domestic men's and women's professional volleyball cup tournament held before the opening of the V-League. This year's tournament will be held from September 13 to 28 at the Jinnam Gymnasium in Yeosu. Volleyball fans and spectators from across the country are expected to visit Yeosu, bringing new vitality to local tourism and the economy.
Mayor Jung Kimyung stated, "The visit of the nation's top volleyball teams to Yeosu will be a great boost for our city as we prepare for the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo. We will make thorough preparations to ensure that both citizens and visitors can enjoy the tournament safely."
KOVO Secretary General Shin Mucheol said, "We hope to provide many attractions and enjoyment for Yeosu citizens and volleyball fans, and the federation will do its utmost to ensure the successful hosting of the tournament. In particular, we will actively promote the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo through this event."
Meanwhile, Yeosu City plans to use this tournament as an opportunity to expand "stay-type sports events" that combine sports and tourism, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
