Selected as an 'Outstanding Policy Case' Among 401 Entries from Cities, Counties, and Districts Nationwide
This competition is a nationwide policy contest jointly organized by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters and the Gyeongbuk Research Institute, and sponsored by North Gyeongsang Province. It was established to discover and share outstanding policy cases promoted by basic local governments in the 8th popularly elected term.
This year, a total of 401 policy cases in seven categories were submitted from 159 cities, counties, and districts across the country. Through a first-round document screening and a second-round presentation review, the best cases in each category were selected.
Haman County was honored with the Excellence Award at this competition for its case titled "The Rebirth of Cultural Heritage! Launch of the 'Haman Nakhwanori Tourism Product' Captivating the World."
This case was highly praised as a policy achievement for developing Nakhwanori, a unique traditional cultural heritage of the region, into an experiential tourism content, thereby effectively linking the tourism industry with the local economy.
In particular, it was recognized for both its effectiveness and sustainability as an integrated policy that goes beyond a simple cultural event to encompass cultural heritage preservation, revitalization of local businesses, and expanded resident participation.
County Governor Cho Geunje stated, "It is very meaningful that our policy, which has revitalized the region by modernizing traditional culture preserved together with county residents, has been recognized nationwide. Based on the achievement of winning the Excellence Award at this competition, we will continue to promote effective policies that residents can truly experience."
