Jang Donghyuk, candidate for the People Power Party leadership, criticized Democratic Party candidate Park Chandae's submission of an expulsion resolution on July 25, stating, "It seems he has lost his mind."

On his social media account that day, Jang said, "Park Chandae, whose chances of winning the party leadership election are very slim, has submitted a resolution urging the expulsion of 45 People Power Party lawmakers," and criticized, "The Lee Jaemyung administration, which has seized control of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, is now attempting to move beyond totalitarian dictatorship to one-party rule."

He added, "They might as well abolish the National Assembly and establish a People's Committee instead."

Earlier that day, Park Chandae, candidate for the Democratic Party leadership, stated, "The 45 People Power Party lawmakers who surrounded the presidential residence on January 6, 2025, to block the arrest warrant for former President Yoon Sukyeol, are accomplices to insurrection," and he officially submitted a resolution to the National Assembly calling for their expulsion.

Park argued, "These individuals have obstructed the law and trampled on the Constitution," and claimed, "If this is tolerated, it will plant the seeds for another insurrection."
