28.9 Million Apply for Consumption Coupon in Four Days... 5.22 Trillion Won Allocated

57.1% of Eligible Recipients Have Completed Applications

As of the fourth day of applications for the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon, approximately 28.9 million people had applied by July 24.

According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on July 25, as of midnight on July 24, a total of 28,898,749 people, accounting for 57.1% of those eligible for the consumption coupon, had completed their applications. On the first day of applications, July 21, around 6.98 million people applied. On July 22, 7.31 million applied, followed by 7.2 million on July 23, and 7.41 million on July 24.

So far, the most preferred issuance method among applicants has been credit and debit cards, chosen by 21,407,627 people. This was followed by mobile and card-type local gift certificates with 4,446,475 applicants, prepaid cards with 2,543,600 applicants, and paper-type local gift certificates with 501,047 applicants.

The regions with the highest application rates for the consumption coupon were Incheon (60.95%) and Sejong (60.01%). The region with the lowest application rate was Jeonnam (53.19%).

The total amount allocated for the consumption coupon is 5.2186 trillion won.
