Gyeonggi Fire Department Provides Fire Safety Training to 972 Apartment Managers

The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has completed fire safety training for apartment managers within the province.

The provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on July 25 that, amid growing safety concerns due to a series of recent apartment fires, it successfully completed fire safety (inspection) training for 972 apartment complex managers and related personnel in the province over a three-week period from July 3 to July 22.

This training was conducted in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Branch of the Korea Association of Apartment Managers and focused on practical programs such as methods for in-unit self-inspection, maintenance and management of fire safety facilities, and evacuation drills in case of fire.

The provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters plans to use this training as an opportunity to further strengthen regular inspections, enhance public awareness campaigns, and promote a culture of safety inspections.

Kim Jaebyung, head of the provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters, said, "Since apartment managers are at the forefront of resident safety, I hope this training will serve as an opportunity to enhance their on-site response capabilities as managers in apartment complexes," adding, "We will actively support the establishment of a safety inspection culture centered on individual units in daily life."
