Jeonnam Office of Education Conducts 'Occupational Safety and Health Training' for Summer Heat Waves

Guidelines for Preventing Heat-Related Illnesses and Emergency Response Procedures

The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education has launched training sessions to prevent industrial accidents caused by summer heat waves and to raise safety awareness among workers.

According to the provincial office on July 24, training will be conducted for approximately 1,400 on-site workers at three locations, including the Jeonnam Educational Research and Information Institute, from today until August 6.

This training is composed of practical, customized content, including: ▲ industrial safety and accident prevention ▲ health management and heat wave prevention ▲ evacuation procedures in case of fire or explosion ▲ safe work practices and accident case studies for each job category ▲ prevention of workplace bullying. In particular, in response to the recent consecutive days of extreme heat, the training focuses on guidelines for preventing heat-related illnesses and emergency response procedures, enabling swift action at worksites.

Professional instructors from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency participated in the training, providing guidance tailored to the characteristics of school sites, including newly added "evacuation procedures in case of fire or explosion" in accordance with the recently revised Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Superintendent Kim Daejung stated, "We place the highest value on the lives and safety of on-site workers," and added, "We will continue our efforts to create an educational environment where everyone can work with peace of mind."
