Fisheries Resources Division Staff Visit Flood-Damaged Aquaculture Farms in Dangjin to Support Recovery
"We Will Help Ensure a Swift Return to Livelihoods"
The Fisheries Resources Division of South Chungcheong Province has taken swift action to support the rapid recovery of marine aquaculture farms in Dangjin that suffered flood damage due to heavy rainfall.
According to the province on July 24, Jin Seongsu, head of the Fisheries Resources Division, along with staff members, visited the affected aquaculture farms on July 23 to assist with the removal of sediment and disposal of debris, helping to prevent secondary damage and aid in recovery efforts.
Due to the recent heavy rainfall, marine aquaculture farms in the Dangjin area have suffered both direct and indirect damage, including the loss of cultured organisms and damage to facilities.
The province plans to continue providing practical support, including prompt damage assessment, disaster relief payments, and restoration of aquaculture facilities.
Jin Seongsu, head of the Fisheries Resources Division, stated, "I hope our efforts have contributed, even in a small way, to helping fishers return to their daily lives," and added, "We will spare no administrative and financial support to ensure a swift return to their livelihoods."
South Chungcheong Province will continue to pursue field-oriented administration to respond to disasters in the fisheries sector and support the recovery of affected aquaculture farms.
