The International Streaming Festival Organizing Committee will launch global fan voting for the 'People's Choice Award' starting July 25.
This vote is part of the 2025 Global OTT Awards, co-hosted by the International Streaming Festival and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency. The award will be presented to two actors?one male and one female?who receive the most votes from the public among the nominees in the acting categories.
The People's Choice Award is a special category in which the top male and female vote-getters are selected through fan voting among the nominees for lead, supporting, and rookie actor categories. Stars from across Asia?including Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, and Kazakhstan?have been nominated, drawing intense attention from global fandoms.
This year, voting will take place through the global fandom platform 'MyOnePick.' MyOnePick is a platform used in over 200 countries around the world, driving fan participation through various voting systems and contributing to the spread of K-content fan culture.
The list of nominees is also impressive. In Korea, leading Hallyu actors such as Park Bogum from 'Good Boy,' Ju Jihoon from 'Severe Trauma Center,' IU from 'You Have Been Deceived,' Park Boyoung from 'Unknown Seoul,' and Park Eunbin from 'Hyper Knife' have been nominated. Unique actors such as Oh Jungse from 'Good Boy,' Yum Hye-ran and Choi Da-hoon from 'You Have Been Deceived,' and Jang Youngnam from 'Unknown Seoul' are also expected to make strong showings.
Rising new actors are also drawing attention. Kang Yuseok from 'Someday Resident Life,' Choo Youngwoo from 'Severe Trauma Center,' Lee Soohyun from 'Family Planning,' and Jung Subin from 'Good Competition' have left strong impressions with their solid performances and have emerged as dark horses.
International actors are also enjoying significant popularity. Notable nominees include Berik Aitzhanov from Kazakhstan for '4°C,' Natarat Noparatayapon from the Thai series 'Mad Unicorn,' Bai Jingting from the Chinese hit 'Nan Hong,' Sakaguchi Kentaro from 'Things That Come After Love' who is active in both Japan and Korea, and Bai Lu from 'Heading North,' all of whom are set for fierce competition as leading Asian actors.
In addition, a wide range of actors from various countries and genres are participating, including Wang Chenyuan from 'Bleaching,' Wu Zhenyu from 'King of Variables,' Zhong Xinling and Suri Lin from 'Spotlight Is Mine,' Moon Ki from 'Yi Ren Zhi Xia 2,' Zahan Kapoor from 'Execution Order,' Hiran Kit Changkham and Wongrawee Nateeton from 'High School Frenemy,' Sa Pengyuan from 'Cha Myeong Yi Saeng,' and Seo Yakham from 'Annie: I Love You.'
Voting is available through the MyOnePick app, with each person allowed up to six votes per day (three votes each for male and female actors), and duplicate voting is restricted. The voting period runs for a total of 18 days, from July 25 to midnight on August 11, and various events for fans are also planned.
The winners of the People's Choice Award will be announced at the 2025 Global OTT Awards ceremony, which will be held at the outdoor theater of the Busan Cinema Center on August 24. The 2025 International Streaming Festival will take place from August 22 to 25 at the Busan Cinema Center and Paradise Hotel, featuring a variety of programs including an investment showcase focused on OTT, Media & Brand Day, an international summit, and an OST concert.
