Myeongjin, Chair of the Education Committee of the Gwangju City Council (Democratic Party of Korea, Seogu District 2), was selected as the Best Metropolitan Council Member at the '2025 Gwangju-Jeonnam Small and Medium Business Conference'.
At the award ceremony held at the Kim Daejung Convention Center in Gwangju on the afternoon of the 23rd, Chair Myeong was honored as the 'Best Council Member' among metropolitan council members from Gwangju and Jeonnam.
The 'Gwangju-Jeonnam Small and Medium Business Conference' is held annually during Small and Medium Business Week in accordance with the Small and Medium Business Act. The event presents government commendations and institutional awards to small and medium business owners, employees, and support organizations to recognize their contributions to economic development, boost their pride, and acknowledge their efforts.
Chair Myeong was highly regarded for his principled and committed approach, as well as his contributions to revitalizing the local community and neighborhood commercial districts, through his roles as a member of the Administrative and Autonomy Committee during the first half of the 9th Gwangju City Council and as Chair of the Education and Culture Committee in the second half.
Chair Myeong stated, "I will continue to propose policies for local small and medium businesses, small business owners, and the self-employed who are struggling due to the economic downturn and changes in consumer behavior, and I will do my best to revitalize the local economy."
